Our school vision for teaching Geography

We believe that through geography our children will learn to make sense of the world in which they live and gain an understanding of places and environments. Through our curriculum, the children will learn about their local area and compare their life in this area with that in other regions in the United Kingdom and in the rest of the world. They will learn how to draw and interpret maps and they will develop the skills of research, investigation and analysis. Through their growing knowledge and understanding of human geography, children will gain an appreciation of life in other cultures.  As part of the Catholic community, we also want the children to understand their role as stewards of their environment: how they can understand and have an impact on the environmental issues affecting their world.

Our Geography Subject Leader is Mrs Weall.
