Who am I?
I am Miss Rushton and I teach in Unit 3. I am the Subject leader for Science across the
school, encouraging all our pupils to develop a love of Science and to be able to think and
work scientifically. This also means I get to head up the Science Ambassadors who took part
in the Great Science Share event at the University of Manchester. Outside of school, I am an
avid football fan and regularly go to support Rochdale AFC! I love all things Harry Potter and
my favourite animal is a giraffe, in fact they fascinate me!

Routines in Class
PE –PE is taught every Thursday afternoon please ensure your child comes to school
wearing their PE kit.
If your child is attending an afterschool PE club, please provide a separate change of clothes.
Homework – homework will be sent out on a Tuesday and needs to be returned to school
on a Monday. In Key Stage 2 the majority of homework is completed on Century Tech our
online learning platform. Please make sure your homework is completed. Spellings will
continue to come home in a spelling book, make sure these are practised several times
before the weekly spelling test. In Class St John Bosco this takes place on a Friday.
Reading Books – please bring in your reading book and signed reading record daily. This is
so you can read your book at home and in school. Once completed you will need to
complete an accelerated reader quiz on your book. Please can all children remember to
read daily to an adult to help improve their fluency and comprehension.
