Welcome to Class Saints Peter and Paul. I am Mrs Greenhalgh and I am the class teacher alongside our wonderful teaching assistants Miss Thwaite and Mr Greaves.  We have a mixed class of year 3 and 4 children and we are excited to begin the school year, looking forward to working hard, having fun and making friends!

We have an action-packed year of learning planned for the children, beginning with a fabulous English unit based on “A Bear Called Paddington” by Michael Bond. In Geography we will be learning all about London and how it compares to Rochdale while in Science we will be investigating Living Things – including Humans. We will get deep inside the human body and learn about our skeletons, teeth and digestive systems! Later on in the year, we will explore different Historical periods including the Tudors, the Shang Dynasty and the Egyptians.

Our PE day is on a Thursday and your child should come to school in their PE kit on that day.

Homework in KS2 is completed online, please find the link below. https://app.century.tech/login/

Children must be completing 2 nuggets of English and 2 of Maths a week on Century Tech.  New nuggets are set each Tuesday and the children have a week to complete them.  We offer a Homework Club after school on a Friday for any children who would like to attend. Please book on through the School gateway app.

It is very important the children in year 3 and 4 practice their times tables ready for the national times table check in year 4. You can use Times Table Rockstar’s at home to help practice or the times table check website, please find the links below: https://ttrockstars.com/
