‘We speak to Him when we pray; We listen to Him when we read His words.’

(St Ambrose – Dei Verbum 25)

Here at St Patrick’s R.C. Primary School, our mission is “Together through love and service, we will come to know God and grow to be the individuals we were created to be”.  Pupils and staff joyfully strive to generously share their talents, be a friend of Christ, listen to God with their hearts and follow in Christ’s footsteps.  We pride ourselves on providing children with a holistic education rooted in the Gospel Values. With Christ at the centre of everything we do, we promote the Gospel Values of service, truth, justice, humility, purity, holiness, forgiveness, mercy, tolerance, peace, gentleness, dignity, compassion, and integrity throughout our curriculum. We believe that we are here to serve our community and provide our children opportunities to grow in their faith and spirituality, as we truly believe that each one of us is made in the image and likeness of God. The welfare of our children is paramount and we have an excellent pastoral team supporting our children and families. As a learning community, we place Religious Education at the centre of our curriculum and all policy development stems from here. We are in constant pursuit of excellence, inspiring children to be the best that they can be, to reach their potential and have ambition to succeed.

St Patrick’s R.C. Primary School offers a distinctly Catholic education in an inclusive environment. We aim to provide excellent learning opportunities, promoting achievement in every area and nurturing social, emotional and spiritual well-being. As our children gain confidence and skills, we hope that they will go on to become compassionate, well balanced young people. They will take their place in society as active citizens, economically independent, exemplifying the British values of equality, tolerance, democracy, individual liberty and rule of law becoming activists for change. We value our school community as a place where love can flourish.

Word & Worship

We learn about the word of God during our Religious Education (RE) lessons and during Prayer and Worship sessions. We do this through the study of scripture and developing pupils understanding of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. At St Patrick’s our approach is very creative, we use drama, art and music to learn about the Catholic faith and develop our relationship with God. We also place a strong emphasis on developing socially, morally and emotionally. We reflect on what we have learnt and consider what this means to us in our daily lives and how we behave as a result of our beliefs – this is called Learning from Religion.

The Catholic Faith at St Patrick’s permeates every aspect of school life. We have excellent relationships with our families and across the wider community. The Gospel values and SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social, Cultural) development at the core of our curriculum, vision and mission statement.
